NASA Teacher Workshop in September!

The next NASA Teacher Workshop will be held on September 24, 2008. There will be a workshop starting at 9 and will go until 11:30. The second workshop will start at 12:30 and go until 3:30. To register please e-mail director@staffordmuseum.com or call 580-772-5871. Please fill ou the registration form or be prepared to let us know the information if you call in. If you e-mail the form please contact us if you have not recieved confirmation of your registration after 2-3 days.

Mayor's Conference

 On July 25, 2008 the Oklahoma mayors who attended the were given a tour of the museum by General Stafford. Some of the mayors and their guests took the time to have their picture taken in the astronaut face cut out of General Stafford and Gene Cernan. Please take a moment to look at these mayor pictures .

 The Stafford Air & Space Museum sold one of the Commemorative Stafford benches on June 13. This numbered limited edition bench sale goes towards the education program of the museum.

 The Stafford Museum has recieved a new jacket. It is a Russian search and rescue jacket. Thank you Irina for your generous donation!

Movie Premier

 The movie "The Wonder of All" by Jeff Roth will premier at the Stafford Air & Space Museum on June 13th. Tickets for this event go on sale May 15th. Please call for pricing and other information. All proceeds will go towards the education program at the museum.

Air and Space Camp

 The Stafford Air & Space Museum will be offering a fun and educational oppurtunity this summer for kids entering 3rd - 8th grade. The first 3 weeks of June the museum will have the first annual Space Camp. Please call for more information. There are limited seats.
Please check out our flier for space camp ! Please print the enrollment page , fill out, and bring by the Stafford Air & Space Museum to ensure your child's spot. Week 1: entering 3rd & 4th Week 2: entering 5th & 6th Week 3: CLOSED ( Please ask about week 2 for those entering into 7 and 8 grade)

May 17, 2008 Workshop

 The workshop held Saturday May 17, 2008 was a great success! Andrew Chaiken (author of "Man on the Moon") and General Stafford gave an indepth tour of the Stafford Air & Space Museum. General Stafford included personal stories of his space adventures. About 35 people attended this workshop.

Stafford Statue on the move

The statue of General Stafford recently was moved to a new home, next to the Stafford Air & Space Museum Entrance. The statue was moved to make way for the new 5,000 sq. ft. Luczo Educational Center.

SWOSU Engineering Class

 The Capstone II class has completed another successful project at the museum. The class automated the Jacobs R-755 engine. With the press of a button, the engine now moves and lights up!

Jim Friesen was named volunteer of the year at our volunteer brunch. This first time-given award will be named the Jim Friesen Volunteer of the Year Award in honor of our first awardee. Thank you Jim for your dedication in making the museum a better place!

 The new Lt. Gen. Thomas P. Stafford, Astronaut Commemorative Bench by Kelly Gale Amen was unveiled on Saturday February 23 at 10 AM in Stafford Air & Space Museum lobby. This bench includes laser cut images that General Stafford has drawn for this specific bench. General Stafford was present for this event as well as our Stafford Volunteer Brunch held earler in the morning.

The NASA Teacher Workshop was held on March 5th, 2008. Around 30 people attended. Our instructor, Lisa Brown did an excellent job.
